With the benefit of a through dance education, and an invaluable exposure to some of the greatest Indian dancers, including Rukmini Devi herself, Tripti has matured into a graceful and elegant artist. Tripti’s dance is typified by precision, a lithesome grace and a sense of devotion.
A first class Post-Graduate of Kalaksherta - College of Fine Arts, Chennai, Tripti toured the Country and was also selected to participate in the Festival of India at Russia in 1987. She starred in several Dance-Drama Productions of the College of Fine Arts. Later she worked under Padmashree Leela Samson at Shri Ram Bharatiya Kala Kendra, New Delhi and gave a number of performances under her able guidance. Tripti has also successfully toured Europe performing and conducting workshops in France, Germany and Spain.
Tripti is a respected figure in the Dubai cultural scene. She is an equally renowned in India, touring and performing for six months each year. She also devotes time to her Institute Samarpan in Ahmedabad India teaching and choreographing with the troupe members.
Disciple of some of the finest teachers of the Institute - Kalakshetra, this truly formidable exponent of Bharatanatyam has dedicated her life to the propagation of the art through concerts, cultural events and teaching.
Rukmini Devi has once said “The quality of art is to achieve the ‘technique’ and forget it. A truly spiritual artiste is one who forgets himself and in the forgetfulness achieves bliss”. Equipped with a faultless technique, it is to achieve this quality of bliss that Tripti has dedicated herself. |
